1. Pleasurable eBooks These cover topics such as novelty, poetry, fiction, mysteries, short stories, drama, suspense, adventure, humour, etc.
2. Inspirational eBooks Topics include bible studies, religious stories and stories that are heart felt
3. Study guides these include reference eBooks covering a multitude of topics.
4. “How-to” eBooks these are the most popular eBook available `Do It Yourself`. These can include topics such as How to run a business and Guide to the internet. Just about every topic can be covered by these types of eBooks.
And on the internet How-to eBooks are the biggest selling book there is. It is very important that you know and study the subject your eBook will cover, or hire a ghost writer who is.
If you come across a topic not yet covered or with very little coverage do some research first to make sure people want to know about it.
Now you have your subject it’s time to do some more research. This is where the keyword research starts. Follow this simple 3 step process:
1. Identify the main keywords for your eBook.
2. Do some searches with your chosen keywords to see the popularity of them and how often they are searched.
3. Look for the following:
A. How many eBooks are already available?
B. The number of sponsored ads. This will indicate just how many people think there is money in your subject.
I would recommend a very good tool for keyword research the Click Ad Equalizer. This tool does all the research for your keywords from the dame place. You can find it at:

Research is vital as it will let you know if there is money to be made3 from your subject and if there is already hundreds out there covering the same subject. Don’t be afraid of a little competition. In a highly saturated market, though, you will need to have more money to spend on advertising, especially if the cost per click is fairly high. Thus, I probably wouldn’t pick a highly saturated market for my first product.

I too write and sell my own ebooks. I’ve been doing it for a year now and I’ve now left my job and doing this full time now. Anyone who is considering writing their own ebooks, just go what it.
